Healthy Protein Bar Recipe
The holidays are almost behind us, but are you still craving more of those yummy sweets and treats that come along with this wonderful time of year? A quick and easy protein bar recipe will cure your cravings for those holiday goodies while providing you a great source of protein to stay on that fitness grind. Most of the ingredients you’ll need can be found here at All Star Health in our Healthy Kitchen!
1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 cup natural chunky Almond butter or Peanut butter (try Nuts ‘N More Peanut Butter with added protein!)
2-3 Tbsp. of honey
1 1/4 of Vanilla Whey Protein powder (Chocolate works too! Tastes great with BodyStrong 100% Whey Protein Milk Chocolate)
2 cups of gluten free Oats
Melted dark chocolate for drizzle (optional) (Walden Farms makes a delicious healthy chocolate dip that could be used as a light drizzle on your bars!)
Protein Bar Directions:
1. Mix your milk, Nut butter, and honey in a medium pot over low heat until ingredients are well combined. Add in your protein powder and oats, stir again until well combined.
2. Press mixture evenly on a greased pan then drizzle your chocolate on top!
3. Allow your bars to cool completely before cutting into squares. Wrap in airtight container, storing at room temp for up to a week
