 Might be a heathier "blood thinner", slow the formation of unhealthy clots and improve circulation. Does it do all this? Maybe; more research needed.

| Details: Those of you familiar with nattokinase may know that Source Naturals was one of the first brands available on a wide scale. This is the brand I have used ever since I began using nattokinase. There are 72 mg of nattokinase per softgel. The softgels are very small, about pea-sized. I take 2 at a time 2 or 3 times a day with food on an ongoing basis as part of my long term strategy for heart and circulatory health. I like Source Naturals as a brand and been happy with this product althought there are other, higher-potency nattokinase products out there.
If you're not familiar with nattokinase here is a brief overview:
Nattokinase is a natural enzyme, extracted from a traditional Japanese ‘health food’ called natto, made from fermented soybeans. Nattokinase has the ability to dissolve fibrin – the protein that forms a blood clot and thickens the blood.
As we age, the concentration of fibrin in our blood increases. Blood gets thicker as we age, not thinner, and this continually increases the risk of unhealthy clot formation. This is one reason why problems caused by unhealthy clots strokes, heart attacks and poor circulation are very common in older people and very uncommon in younger people.
Thicker blood also makes the heart work much harder and can raise blood pressure.
I began using nattokinase because it’s seemed like it might be a natural, very safe kind of ‘blood thinner’. More research is needed to say anything more concrete than that, but
as a longtime vitamin user and still very healthy, I personally feel that sometimes we need to just put 2-and-2 together ourselves and not wait for the Medical-Scientific Establishment to validate everything.
Nattokinase is a supplement I use on this kind of basis. I would recommend that anyone concerned with better circulation, with a family history of stroke or heart disease or even circulatory disorders like Raynaud’s investigate nattokinase for themselves.
