Overview:
Muscletech's Hydroxycut Hardcore is their most powerful thermogenic diet formula, taking the fat-burning concepts behind the original Hydroxycut a step further. Hydroxycut Hardcore features a proprietary blend of ingredients formulated to stimulate and prolong the fat-burning process at the cellular level. This is accomplished in a 5-stage process.
First, norepinehprine (NE) levels are elevated, activating the beta-receptors on fat cells. Beta-receptors then signal the cell to begin the process of mobilizing fat stores to be burned for energy and heat production (thermogenesis). Secondly, the signaling mechanism within the fat cell, cAMP, is a key link in the chain because it makes the cell respond to the fat-burning stimulus. Hydroxycut Hardcore elevates and sustains cAMP levels to prolong the fat-burning effects of norepinephrine. The third stage involves inhibition of alpha receptors on fat-cells, which turn off the fat-burning process allowing more fat to be used for energy and heat production. The fourth step inhibits an enzyme that would otherwise reduce levels of NE, which is desirable since NE initiates the fat-burning process. Breaking down or 'mobilizing' fat stores and then burning that fat, are two separate processes, and up to this point Hydroxycut Hardcore has focused on breaking down fat.
The fifth and last stage enhances the body's ability to actually burn fat within the mitochondria of cells where energy is produced. So what you have in Hydroxycut Hardcore is something very close to an actual 'fat burner' although, as Muscletech wants you to know, your results will be greatly enhanced by proper exercise and diet. Use as directed; 3 capsules with an 8-oz. glass of water 2 times daily, approximately 30 to 60 minutes before meals. On days of your workout, take 1 of these servings before the workout. Consume ten 8-oz. glasses of water per day.

| Details: I have used Hydroxycut hardcore several different times. I DO NOT use it as it suggests, but more of an energy booster & appetite suppressant.
These pills, liek the rest of alll the fat burners compliment your diet & exercise program, they are not miracle pills.
~No Pill Is!~
I take 2 (3 is 1 serving) right when I wake up. This wakes me up, gets me moving and helps me control my appetite throughout the day. I then take 2 more about 1 hr before I know I will want to work out and when it is time to lift or do cardio, I am alive and motivated. Taking 2 is good for evening b/c it will not effect your sleeping habits.

For experienced athletes and those already conditioned and training consistently, a complete diet formula like Hydroxycut Hardcore is probably not focused enough on specific effects to be very useful; 2/5 stars.
