Country Life Natural Vitamin D3 uses the cholecalciferol form of vitamin D, which can be derived from either wool oil (lanolin) or as is the case here, from fish liver oil. Fish liver oil is also the source of the active form of vitamin A found in fish liver oil. At 400 IU per softgel, Country Life Vitamin D3 is a moderate-potency vitamin D supplement, and many health experts are recommending that adults use 1000 or even 2000 IU per day. But since vitamin D is an already present in popular supplements like multivitamins and calcium/bone formulas, a 400 IU D3 supplement can be an inexpensive and effective way to close this important nutritional gap.
