What Good Is All Natural & Gluten Free, If It Isn't Non-GMO?
GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) are plants or animals created through gene splicing which merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding.
Virtually all commercial GMOs are engineered to withstand direct application of herbicide and/or to produce an insecticide. A growing body of evidence connects GMOs with health problems, environmental damage and violation of farmers' and consumers' rights.
Most developed nations do not consider GMOs to be safe. In more than 60 countries around the world there are significant restrictions or outright bans on the production and sale of GMOs. Currently the U.S. FDA does not require the disclosure of GMO use in consumer products. Increasingly, Americans are taking matters into their own hands and are choosing to avoid genetically modified foods.
RATIO was created to meet the demand for delicious, all natural, gluten free, whey protein-based and non-GMO protein bars.
What are Net Carbs?
Not all carbohydrates have the same effect in a person's diet. Fiber, glycerol and erythritol have less of an impact on blood glucose than normal sugar (sucrose) does.
To calculate net impact carbs, subtract dietary fiber, glycerol and erythritol from the total carbohydrate count on the nutrition facts panel.
