CLA contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a unique optical isomer of the polyunsaturated fatty acid linoleic acid. CLA is a lipid component of cell membranes and breast milk. Although dietary sources of CLA typically include red meat and dairy products, Jarrow FORMULAS CLA is derived from safflower oil. Two CLA softgels offer the CLA equivalent of what is found in 38 slices of cheese. CLA has been shown in animal experiments to assist in glucose metabolism, body fat reduction and enhancement/retention of lean body mass (muscle). Each 1000 mg softgel contains a minimum 75-82% CLA (providing at least 750 mg CLA per softgel).

Ingredients
Mixed tocopherols. Softgel consists of gelatin, glycerin, water and natural caramel color (added as a light barrier).

Good fat loss supplement, not really a weight-loss supplement

| Details: I've used CLA before, including this specific product, when cutting down after a bulk. I know it has helped me hang onto lean-body mass while cutting down, but it's not an easy or fun product to use hence the 3 stars. Here's what my own trial and error and research taught me about getting results from CLA: 1) Exercise on a regular basis 2) Take at least 5 softgels per day, 6 if you're over 200 lbs. Take them all at once or divided doses, with or without food, but take this amount because this is the dose that got the best fat-loss results in the clinical studies. 3) Commit to taking the product on a daily basis, religiously. 4) Have your body fat measured every two weeks to mark your progress, not your weight, which may not change much as you lean up, build mass and lose fat.
