Details: NOW Foods DGL lozenges contain a specialized preparation of licorice that's been shown to support the healing of gastric mucosa (the lining of the stomach). This product can really help people recovering from ulcers or gastritis, and many nutrition-oriented doctors recommend it in those situations. Many people know that licorice can raise blood pressure. But DGL has had the compound responsible for that effect - glycyrrhizin - removed. This is the origin of the the abbreviation by which this compound is known, DGL: de-glycyrrhizinated licorice.
