Overview
There might be hundreds of fish oil supplements on the market, but if you know what to look for, you won't find a better one than NOW Foods Ultra Omega-3. One great feature of Ultra Omega-3 is the enteric coated softgel. Many people need an enteric-coated fish oil supplement to prevent unwelcome burp back that can happen with some fish oils. "Enteric coated" capsules and softgels are made to withstand stomach acids and enzymes, delaying the capsule's disintegration until it's in the small intestine and burp back is no longer possible. Ultra Omega-3 has an enteric coat and is therefore a good choice for these users.
Another great feature of Ultra Omega-3 is the ultra concentrated fish oil used in its formula. With much higher amounts of DHA and EPA per softgel, you can take just 1 or 2 per day to get the 1000 mg per day most experts recommend as a bare minimum amount. With other less concentrated fish oils, you need 3-4.
Finally, you'll know you're getting the highest quality fish oil at a reasonable price with Ultra Omega-3 since it's a product of the NOW Foods line. Unless you're an eskimo, you need to supplement with omega 3 fatty acids and in our opinion, this product is THE way to go.

 No Taste, No Fish Burps

| Details: The most important thing to me, when it comes to my nutrition, is taste. Whether it's a protein powder or a multivitamin, they have to be taste-tolerable. I've had fish oil pills that smell like bad fish from the wharf, but these do not smell or have a taste at all. And because they are enteric-coated, I don't have to worry about fish burps. If you're looking for an Omega-3, this is a great place to start.

| Details: Take it from a guy who's tried and used a lot of fish oils for a very long time; this really is about the best fish oil softgel on the market right now. Here's why I say that and have switched over to this one. First, it's one of the newer generation ultra-concentrated fish oils with a (minimum) 70% concentration of omega 3s. The fish oil you're taking now is probably 30% or 50% omega 3s. That means more softgels to swallow to get the gram (1000 mg) or more of omega 3s you need every day. Secondly, these are enteric-coated; they don't break down until they reach the intestines, making burp back almost impossible. A lot of the people who really need fish oil the most, like the elderly or people with sensitive systems, have a hard time taking any fish oil because of burping and aftertaste. That won't happen with this product. As you can tell, I've been very happy with it, and have recommended to my family to switch over to this one. I take 4 per day, 2 with breakfast and 2 with dinner.
