"Superfood" is a term loosely used to describe a dietary supplement that could be also considered food and in most cases used as food. Superfoods are minimally-processed and provide a range of nutrients, not just isolated amounts of specific nutrients as in most dietary supplements. Some superfoods like nutritional yeasts and lecithin were among the very first dietary supplements on the market.
