Citrulline Supplements: Information

Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that serves two primary purposes. Citrulline, along with arginine and ornithine helps to rid the body of ammonia, a toxic byproduct of protein metabolism. Citrulline also provides a readily available substrate for arginine production, which in turn, can be used for the production of Nitric Oxide (NO). NO plays a fundamental role in vascular function and blood flow.
