MSM
MSM: Information
MSM (methyl sulfonyl methane) is an organic sulfur compound naturally occurring in the blood and found in most foods. It is thought that MSM is an important component in proteins, especially those found in the hair, muscles, connective tissue, joints and skin.
MSM's Health Benefits
Although the mechanism of action is not entirely understood, MSM seems to help alleviate pain and reduce inflammation associated with the following conditions: arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and other auto-immune disorders. Studies also suggest that MSM may be effective in the reduction of muscle spasms, increasing blood flow and helping to maintain and repair cartilage. It is thought that MSM may also help slow the development of cancer. More extensive research needs to be conducted to confirm these claims and prove long-term safety.
