Erythritol Description from Now
Erythritol, a polyol (sugar alcohol), is a good-tasting sweetener which is suitable for a variety of reduced-calorie and sugar-free foods. It can be used as a sugar substitute in most sugar-free recipes. Erythritol has been part of the human diet for thousands of years due to its presence in foods such as pears, melons, grapes and mushrooms. NOW Erythritol is 100% pure and derived from a corn source. Erythritol resembles sugar in consistency and taste but has a caloric value near zero. It is also a great sugar alternative for diabetics. Eyrthritol, like Xylitol, may also inhibit cavities by denying plaque bacteria the fuel (sugar) it needs to erode tooth enamel.

Just fine

This is as good as any erythritol youll find anywhere and this is the cheapest place Ive found to get it. The zipper seal on the bag sometimes fails, so it must be clipped securely closed and stored upright.

Best sweetner for cooking

Having tried others that left a funny after taste, this one is great. If you need some powdered sugar, we just put it in the coffee grinder that we use for such things.

Has slightly less sweetening power than sugar.

I really like Erythritol because it has no chemical aftertaste, zero calories, and a low glycemic index, keeps it from adding to fat cells. (My body fat percentage has dropped since I eliminated sugar and white flour.) Have noticed that spoon for spoon, Erythritol has slightly less sweetening power than sugar. To make up for it I add a tiny bit of Stevia, to my coffee for instance, but not too much because Stevia does have a certain flavor. Otherwise Erythritol is a great product, and All Star Health has the best prices!

I'll never use sugar again

Great for coffee, baking and anything else you'd use sugar for. Doesn't mess with the stomach like other sugar alcohols. Doesn't stall out weight loss efforts either.
