Arrested Macular Degeneration
Mother was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, the treatable kind, given literature about the eye injections, and rescheduled for the injections. In the meantime, I (her daughter) somehow bumped into MD Formulas EyeAstin, and she started taking 1 soft gel a day. We seldom take the recommended amount of any supplement. She returned for a checkup, and the doctor’s comment was, "remarkable," meaning she had no progression. She has been able to arrest MAC Degen with this supplement, and this translated into no injections.
That said, every body is different, and mother at age 101 eats a very good diet, organic when we can get it, a vegetable/fruit smoothie in the evenings, and sometimes sautéed vegetables at breakfast with her egg. In West Virginia, we eat breakfast, dinner, and supper, and the latter means what it says, sup, small amounts in the evening. Sometimes, we have a mini-veg/fruit smoothie (red cabbage 2 oz, yellow squash 2 oz, and 1/2 medium banana. Then I add a raw egg (we have 5 hens), and it's a mild drink with no strong cabbage taste. All this is to say, we treat our entire organism with real food, and this supports vision and most likely gives the EyeAstin a boost in the body.
