Iodoral Overview

Optimox Iodoral provides two types of iodine in the forms of both pure iodine and iodide. Each tablet equates to the average daily amount of elemental iodine received by the mainland Japanese population, mostly from their seafood and seaweed-rich diets. Iodine is essential in maintaining thyroid health because it is a key building block in the production of the thyroid hormones thyroxine and triodothyronine, which help regulate the metabolism. Regular supplementation with Iodoral can help ensure your body gets enough iodine if you’re not able to eat iodine-rich foods for one reason or another.

It is important to not overtake iodine because too much can actually be harmful and toxic to your body. When using iodine supplements like Optimox Iodoral, make sure you follow the directions on the label and supplement with the proper amount. If you think you have thyroid problems, please consult your physician immediately before taking any dietary supplements.

Iodoral Description from Optimox
One 12.5 mg. tablet of Iodoral supplies an amount of total elemental iodine, comparable to the average daily intake of this essential element by mainland Japanese, a population with a very low prevalence of fibrocystic disease of the breast and breast cancer.

Report to your physician any history of thyroid surgery and/or radiation, chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (Hashimoto), and any previous problem with your thyroid. Before starting Iodoral, your physician (He/She = He) will order blood tests for hematology, blood chemistry and thyroid functions. He will also perform an ultrasound of your thyroid to measure the size and appearance of your thyroid. Depending on the results of the thyroid function tests and ultrasound, he may order some blood tests for thyroid antibodies. If you are taking thyroid hormones, let your physician know about it. Be aware that Iodoral enhances the response of your body to thyroid hormones (4,6). Subjects on Iodoral feel warmer in cold environments and that is expected. However, you will need to cut down the amount of thyroid hormones if you experience palpitation, anxiety,

Essential Nutrient in the Correct Form and Dosage

I have been using the Optimox Iodoral tablets in 12.5mg dose for quite a few years. When I first began supplementing with iodine, I was taking one 12.5 mg tablet with every meal in order to overcome a deficiency of this vital nutrient. After about the first year, my thyroid gland seemed to be functioning better, and my body had clearly undergone a "thermostat" correction. Now, I continue supplementing with iodine, but only one 12.5mg tablet per day as a maintenance dose. I would highly recommend this product but highly recommend learning more about iodine and its use as a supplement from the website of Dr. David Brownstein who is probably the leading authority on it.

noticeable improvement

I have extremely dry skin probably because of a thyroid problem. This is one of the few supplements I have ever taken that has helped to such an extent that I can TELL it is helping - when I take these, the skin on my hands stocks cracking and bleeding and the dryness improves drastically. If I run out, my hands dry out and start to crack and bleed within a few days. Im sure they are doing other things, too, but the improvement to my dry skin is the one thing I have really noticed when I take them.

Doctor recommended

My doctor recommended Iodoral for me because I have Hypothyroidism. It has worked out fine for me. Ordering through All Star Health has also worked for me. The cost is reasonable.

Good Iodine

This is a good tablet which is like Lugols liquid iodine. If you want iodine, but hate the taste of Lugols, one tablet equals two drops of Lugols. The nice thing is that these tablets are small, and they have a break line in the middle so you can use 1/2 tablet per day, if needed.
